Sportsbook Ratings

Sportsbook Rating Guide

Reviewing a sportsbook is like reviewing a car: you have to like the appearance, enjoy what’s under the hood and enjoy the test drive before you buy. We do our due diligence when it comes to sportsbook reviews and here is a template of how we review the books we come across.

 1. Security

Security is the No. 1 issue when it comes to grading a sportsbook. If the shop has a history of slow payouts or no payouts, they get docked heavily. If their track record is clean with a history of good service, they will receive a high score.

There’s no point in betting if you’re money is not secure, which is why security is such a crucial point.

 2. Variety

Ideally, if you can find the one-stop-shop, that’s much better than having several betting accounts. Variety comes into play with sportsbooks in regards to betting lines. Things that are included under variety are major sports offered, proposition and exotic bets and live betting. The more variety, the higher the score.

 3. Customer Service

Customer service is key to having a good experience. Although a betting account is just a number, nobody wants to be treated like a number.

The important thing about service is to have it there for you not only when you’re depositing, or when you’re a potential new client, but to have that service beside you when there is a problem.

The sportsbooks that disappear when you request a withdrawal get penalized heavily in our reviews while the good books stay in our good books.

 4. Website

The website isn’t always the most important thing when it comes to sports betting because it’s sometimes an irrelevant point when you’re rushing to get your action in. On the other hand, though, a good website deserves credit. The newer, flashier, higher-tech sites allow you to do some things that the prehistoric sportsbooks don’t. When that’s the case, they get higher marks.

 5. Juice

When it comes to betting, different shops take different amounts of percentages for themselves. Low juice shops aren’t as greedy, which means more money in your pocket. Higher juice shops just crank up their own profits at your expense. Clearly, lower juice shops get rated higher in our reviews.
